Read, don’t listen on audiobook! I’ve done both. When read, these characters are so enjoyable, and their dynamic between each other are a major reason why this series is so beloved. The main character Violet even helped change my identity around working out as a non-athlete! When fiction has real life impact, that’s a world class novel. Unfortunately on audiobook, the voices are whiney, endlessly sarcastic, generally annoying, and don’t match the basic descriptions of the characters. When I read this book, the main character had badass, Gal Gadot Wonder Woman vibes. When I listened on audiobook, all I could think about was the movie “the kissing booth” and the 16 year old lead whining about everything. Seriously, it’s the difference between a 5 star book & a 3.5/4 star book. Otherwise, enjoy this series & get wrapped up in all its lore - you will be hooked! 🥰
