Where do you see yourself in five years? That nonsense is only charming coming from free-spirited types, like her lifelong best friend, Bella. Determined to ignore the odd experience, she files it away in the back of her mind. That is, until four-and-a-half years later, when by chance Dannie meets the very same man from her long-ago vision.

There’s promise in this book: characters that felt fresh, and a dreamy dialogue writing style. It oozes “literary fiction”. Unfortunately after reading in the evenings for weeks, I DNF at 36%. The book that is about a roadtrip hadn’t even started a roadtrip yet. After one too many paragraph descriptors about random details not forwarding the plot, characters, relationship dynamics, or building the world they lived in, I felt that the author/editor wasn’t respecting my time as a reader and had to move on. If an abridged version is released cutting the length by 50%, l’d pick it back up.
