Great read! I loved the main character’s past lives readings - it felt ethereal and similar to what it feels like when you dabble in deep meditation & channelling. I did find it odd that the author made the character “not into woo”, and the author’s note even starts with, “I don’t know if I believe in past lives…”. It’s like the author’s hedging her bets for a mainstream audience, while subtly undercutting a character POV that I think is very cool. I hope she’ll lean into it fully in future books. At the end of the day, all romances have to be believable to really root for the characters. Large age gap romances are reallyyy tough for me. ESPECIALLY when the woman is older. Like, do we know a single 28 year old male who we’d want to date when we’re 40? IMO that may be the most unrelastic part of this book, which has literal magic & made up folklore in it 🤣 Otherwise, good plot, pacing, and humor - very close to a 5 star book, worth a read! ❤️
